AIOC - All In One Cable
Reliable shipping
Flexible returns
TL;DR
One cable to rule them all.
The AIOC replaces your programming cable and your digital-mode audio cable with a single USB-C adapter. It shows up as both a serial port and a sound card, works with common ham software, and dramatically reduces desk spaghetti. This version requires soldering the jacks, or you can buy it fully assembled if you’d rather skip that part.
If you’re tired of your ham radio setup looking like a bowl of USB spaghetti, let me introduce you to the AIOC — the All-In-One Cable.
One little adapter. A whole lot less nonsense.
Instead of juggling separate cables for programming, audio, and PTT, the AIOC rolls it all into a single USB-C device. Plug it in, and you’re off to the races. Programming? Yep. Digital modes? Yep. Sanity: Restored.
The AIOC shows up as:
• a COM/serial port for programming
• a sound card for digital modes
It plays nicely with DireWolf, APRSDroid, CHIRP, VaraFM, and probably a bunch of other stuff I haven’t thrown at it yet.
About this version
This one comes as a kit — meaning the headphone jacks are not soldered on. You’ll need to do that yourself. It’s an easy job, but spacing matters, so you’ll want a solder guide. I used my trusty UV-5R!
I've got videos showing how its done!
Not into soldering? Totally fair. Drop me a line for a quote on the soldered version.
The fine print (aka the stuff that matters)
• Latest v1.4.1 firmware installed on v1.2 hardware
• Units are flashed and booted, ready for your creativity out of the bag.
• Requires a USB-C cable (not included)
• Works on Linux, macOS, and Windows 10+
Radio compatibility
• Works with Kenwood-style connectors (most Baofengs, etc.)
• Does NOT work with Icom or Yaesu radios
Open source goodness
The AIOC is an open-source design by Simon Küppers, which means smart design, community brains behind it, and no mystery magic smoke.
